  4. Tony Vandervell and it launched its first car
  5. 1954. It was designed around a Ferrari
  6. chassis with a Norton engine. Stirling Moss
  7. drove for Vanwall and won the 1956
  8. International Trophy. In 1957 Moss and Tony
  9. Brooks shared the driving to win the British
  10. Grand Prix at Aintree, the first win for a
  11. British car in over 30 years. They went on to
  12. win six Grand Prix 1958. In 1959, ill health
  13. forced Vandervell to retire and, at the same
  14. time, the team quit Formula One racing.
